‘I met Port Road the
other day’
A live performance created by the ‘Australian Bureau of
Worthiness’ (ABW) from their inaugural 2011 Census of the
People of Port Adelaide. Theatre makers Emma Beech,
James Dodd and Tessa Leong ask the people of the Port:
What makes your day worth it?
The Bureau, using some
low-fi technology and highly honed skills, will connect the
responses to map how our perspectives ultimately bind us,
and how the place we choose to live and work in impacts
upon our day and sense of worthiness.
The Bureau’s findings are as dynamic as they are fascinating:
they will spend only five days interviewing a broad cross-
section of the Port community, before frantically and
brilliantly interpreting, analyzing, weaving and shaping
the stories of everyday people. An hour of humour, insight,
exploration and good fun theatre, looking at what it means
to live a day (or a lifetime) in the Port.
Supported by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
