The 2011 Port Festival is
about to take us on an arts
and cultural voyage that
has something for everyone.
There’s the magnificent
‘Inhabited’ street projections,
a hive of boating activity
on the Port River, plenty of
seafood, fun family activities,
wonderful art exhibitions and
performances, and much
more.
This city has always had a
wonderful sense of its own
culture and identity - and
that is what this festival
celebrates. Over the years a
vibrant artistic and creative
community has grown in
our city, and what better
place to celebrate it than
in a landscape surrounded
by the Port’s colourful history
and heritage.
It’s no surprise that the Port
Festival has already been
recognised as one of South
Australia’s premier artistic
and cultural events, winning
a Silver Medal at the 2010 SA
Tourism Awards.
That’s the sort of thing that
gives confidence to our
many friends, sponsors and
supporters. The Port Festival is
a real partnership between
state and local government,
business, artists and the
community, and I thank all
of you for your continued
support and generosity.
Now, let the Festival begin...
