Steam Trains
Peronne is the only full size steam train running in
metropolitan Adelaide. Built in Scotland in 1919,
it will be hauling shuttle trains between NRM
and the SA Aviation Museum – a distance of
about 500m ($3 per person).
Bub, the well-known small blue steam engine,
will be taking visitors for a ride round the
museum complex throughout the day.
Redhens from City
The iconic Redhen diesel railcars, designed and
built at Islington in the 1950s, will be running
special trips between Port Adelaide and
Adelaide Railway Station. Catch a Redhen from
the City into the heart of the Port Festival.
Only 25 minutes by rail. One hour return trip.
($10 per person)
Trains depart from City: 10.35am, 11.35am,
12.35pm, 1.35pm, 2.35pm, 3.35pm, 4.35pm.
Trains depart from NRM: 10.05am, 11.05am,
12.05pm, 1.05pm, 2.05pm, 3.05pm, 4.05pm.
