Our state has a rich history and the SA Maritime Museum
brings it to life. The Museum features interactive
exhibitions and rare collections.
Ghosts of 1840
Performers will reawaken characters from the
Port’s history to recall 1840, the year the first
wharves were built and Port Road was opened,
joining the Port to the City. Celebrate Port
Adelaide’s 175th anniversary by meeting
whalers, seafarers and immigrant voyagers
in one of the Port’s oldest buildings.
All the World’s at Sea
A World War 1 Centenary Exhibition. Discover
extraordinary artefacts from local and national
collections to portray the critical, widespread
and often overlooked history of the Navy in
World War I (see page 30).
Port Adelaide Lighthouse
Climb the Port’s icon and take in the views
of the river, coast and Mount Lofty Rangers
(see page 41).
Cruises on Steam Tug Yelta
Experience history abroad South Australia’s
last working steam tug (see page 46).
