Meet your Councillors from Enfield Ward

Folland Park, Enfield

Cr Carol

Martin JP

Cr Peter

McKay JP

Cr Michael

Immarrone JP

As Councillor for

the City of Port

Adelaide Enfield

for the past 19

years, I represent

the people of the Ward of Enfield and I

take this opportunity to thank them for

the privilege. As the years have passed I

have endeavoured to become involved

in all aspects of life in my community –

and I have learnt a great deal from my

experiences. My passion for this area

is unwavering.

My community involvement began with

my amateur footy club – and I believe

sport is key to the happiness and future

of our local youth. Recently I’ve been in

discussions with the SANFL to try to start

up a program involving our local Afghani

children. The Afghani community is strong

and successful in business in this area –

and a great driver of our

economic prosperity.

I look forward to seeing the State

Government roll-out its 1000 homes in

1000 days plan, which would lead to

greater development in the Enfield Ward.

I’m also a great supporter of women in

my community – and am proud to be the

inaugural Patron of the Ovarian Cancer

Challenge, which has primarily been

set-up to promote healthy lifestyles and

ovarian cancer awareness. Please “like” us

on Facebook to help spread the word.

Recently I

sent out a

community

survey

and I have

appreciated the feedback. I also get

feedback by doorknocking and holding

street corner meetings. I will continue

doing this work as it helps me better

understand what is important to you.

It’s pleasing to see that work is

commencing in response to ideas

brought to Council, by a Committee

of local residents, investigating traffic

issues in Kilburn. I had Council initiate

this consultation after residents raised

concerns with me about the effect the

new Churchill shopping centre would

have on local traffic.

A similar Committee has been

established for Enfield residents south of

Collins St, which will report to

Council soon.

I will seek to keep you updated on these

and other developments. If you have a

Council issue you would like to raise or

require the services of a JP, feel free to

call me on 0421 329 153.

The following

information

has been

provided by the

Administration

of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield on

behalf of Cr Peter McKay.

Cr Peter McKay was first elected as a

Councillor for South Ward with the City

of Enfield in 1971, and continued his

service with the Enfield Council until

its amalgamation with Port Adelaide in

1996. He’s performed a remarkable 45

years of service to Local Government.

Currently Cr McKay’s mainly focussed

on pushing the progression of the

Kilburn North housing development,

which he believes is crucial to the future

wellbeing and economic prosperity of

the local community.

Anyone wanting to discuss Council

issues with Cr McKay can contact him

on 8262 3387.
