MESSAGE
Welcome to the Autumn edition of
Pen2Paper. I am delighted to be taking
responsibility for the mayoral duties whilst
our Mayor is taking a leave of absence.
During this time, all of your elected members
will continue to support and assist everyone
throughout the community to make the City
of Port Adelaide Enfield the best place to live,
work and play. 2018 is already shaping up to
be busy year in many areas of the City of
Port Adelaide Enfield.
We started off with the very successful Stage
1 Race Start of Tour Down Under from Port
Adelaide, followed by the Laneway Festival,
and theWalk of Awareness to acknowledge
the Stolen Generations and National Apology.
Since then we have been immersed in the
colour and spectacle of the Fringe.
The Australia Day Citizenship and Awards
Ceremony was once again a special event for
all involved, and I am pleased that we were
able to acknowledge and honour the citizens
who have made outstanding contributions to
our community.
Work has started on the redesign of our
libraries at Port Adelaide, Semaphore and
Enfield, and we have pop-up libraries nearby
while we undertake this work.
We are underway with the Annual Business
Plan and Budget; this year we have used your
voices to drive this process. In September
2017, we asked you through our City
Indicator Survey to tell us how we are
performing and the areas where we still have
work to do.Your feedback is paramount in
shaping our future, and we have taken your
contributions on board to ensure we can
deliver what you told us you want.Through
the upcoming consultation activities in March
and April, you will have more opportunities
to have your say.We want you to have your
say to make sure the investments we make
in our community deliver on the things that
matter to you.
Don’t forget to check out our calendar
of events across the region, as well as the
variety of services offered by our community
centres and libraries, where we are always
keen to welcome new faces.
And keep an eye out for our new website
name and look.
Acting Mayor Matt Osborn
