Actual: Produced Cultural Calendar 2012 featuring local residents/recipes from
Aboriginal Australia, Vietnam, Greece, Italy, Africa, India, Afghanistan, Scotland,
Croatia, Philippines & Spain.
Promoted Footprints to Largs Bay Schools in conjunction with Refugee Week
exhibition in Port Library.
Hillcrest Community Centre Murals Project – conducted community workshops to
create five themed murals for external walls.
Annual outing for new arrivals - Muslim Women’s Group.
Highly successful cultural exchange project focussed around sharing of crafts and
foods implemented to address lack of understanding between Muslim women
and Aboriginal women within the community. Project was a partnership between
Council, Tauondi College and Muslim Womens Association.

Actual: Launch of 2 major public artworks on Semaphore Road.
Hillcrest Community Centre Murals Project.
Mosaic pavers project with Woodville Gardens School in relation to Water
Sensitive Urban Design Demonstration Project in Murchinson Street.
Liaison with Adelaide Metro Public Transport Services regarding potential
public art project for Port Adelaide Railway Bridge Provided input, together with
Aboriginal Advisory Panel,, into concept design and selection of artists for Kardi
Yarta, the cultural park within the Defence SA development on the northern
Lefevre Peninsula.

Recreation Plan implemented
Actual: Further meeting held with CASA Leisure with both parties agreeing to
extend CASA’s contract to manage Lefevre Community Stadium after normal office
hours for a further 12 month period.
Street Sport was successfully completed with 75 young people participating in
activities including soccer, hip hop, martial arts and roller skating.
Due the success of the program Council has received a further 2 year period.

Actual: Actions identified within the Community Development Plan are being
implemented including the preparation of a needs analysis of low socio-economic
