Issues and opportunities
•
Council to continue to ensure appropriate administrative management of
Council property in relation to regulatory responsibilities for land
management. Review procedures as legislation changes, or case law is
created.

Council to maintain sound data management and planning assessment
procedures with regard to development that requires soil contamination
management and remediation activities

Council to review and confirm its operational procedures regarding the
management of acid sulphate soils during the undertaking of on-ground
works. Undertake training as required.
•
Council to continue to ensure appropriate planning controls are
implemented in areas subject to acid sulphate soils. Review and
implement training as required.
•
Review the status of land subsidence data, and advocate to the State
Government for updating of the research.
