Now That I’m Grown Up
For all those who, as a child, wanted to be
a train driver, here is your chance… well
almost. Accompany the driver in the cab of
steam engine Peronne as it puffs and chugs
between the National Railway Museum
and the Aviation Museum. Chat to the
drivers of these powerful machines and let
your imagination run wild amidst the heat,
the steam and the roar of these beautiful
reminders of a bygone era.

Off the Wall
An intriguing exhibition of posters of rail
travel, past and future.
From the past come highlights of the NRM’s
collection of evocative advertising placards
that have promoted the romance and
speed of train travel throughout Australia
over the past 150 years. Many of these
posters have never been exhibited at the
Museum before.
From the future comes a colourful projector
show of imaginative posters created by local
children, based on the theme ‘Futuristic Rail
Travel in South Australia’. You’ll be amazed at
where and how you might travel tomorrow.
