Actual: Councill continues to implement projects outlined in the Port Adelaide

Street, Port Adelaide.
Secured $230,000 from Commonwealth Government Liveable Communities
programs to prepare design, documentation for future upgrade of Commercial
Road North.
Senior staff represented in the Port Adelaide Urban Renewal Steering Group
consisting of community members and State Government representatives.

Corridor Structure plan.

Actual: Council continues to support the North West Business Development
Centre (NWBDC) through Council representation on its Board, in making
Council owned premises in Todd Street available at a competitive rate and
providing appropriate in kind support as required.
Council has provided advice and guidance to various State Government
initiatives including (but not limited to) the preparation of a North West
Corridor Structure Plan, the Parks Community Centre redevelopment, the
proposed part-development of the Gillman employment lands area and the
proposed development of the Klemzig Interchange for residential and mixed use
development.
The availability of senior staff to respond to developer enquiries for the potential
development of underutilised land within the Council area is coordinated
through Council’s Special Projects Group and its Urban Projects Coordination
Group which meet on a fortnightly and weekly basis respectively. Information is
disseminated to Council via formal reports and/or workshops as appropriate.

Fees and charges at the Parks
Centre remain accessible.
Fees increase in line with Consumer Price Index (CPI)
Actual: The State Government Funding continued to allow the Parks Community
Centre to operate with generous subsidies, with a slight increase evident in the
Sport & Fitness Charges otherwise fees and Charges were fixed at 2010 rates,
therefore remaining affordable for Community members.

Actual: Attendance figures confirm a healthy use of the Parks Community Centre
in all areas, Theatre Performances were well attended with many performances
having near capacity crowds, the after school children’s program and youth
drop-in continue to be popular. Sports membership and swimming participation
remains high and the Art & Craft sessions continue with solid attendances, two
new short term classes have commenced in the Arts- Book making and Narative
art, and Theatres have trialled two new sessions of Meditation and Bollywood
Dance.
