habitat) and potential impacts on the site's cultural values (heritage shipwrecks,
log pool piles, the swim through sculptures and Kaurna values).
There are management strategies put in place for Mangrove Cove that include:
Portside Christian School’s Mangrove Cove Care Team assistance to
recognise and control maritime and terrestrial invasive species (Our Patch
and Waterwatch).
Incorporating signage at the reserve to highlight dumping penalties.
Stormwater runoff from residential subdivision redirected from the reserve.
Additional planting on the filled area to minimise some of the noise
intrusion,
Maintaining the bait-digging ban.
Attempting to actively manage mangrove incursion.
Continuing annual site ecological monitoring.
A Biodiversity Plan has been developed for Mangrove Cove by Delta
Consulting, who are also engaged by Council to conduct ongoing monitoring in
the area.
