In my short time
on Council we
have managed
to get some
good results for
our community.
Our Council rates continue to be
amongst the lowest of all metropolitan
councils. More money is being spent
on road and footpath maintenance
than ever before as our area continues
to grow.
I am proud that my fellow Councillors
decided to support my initiative for
Council to fund rates concessions for
pensioners. Council knows that it eases
some pressure on the cost of living.
This initiative has assisted more
than 10,000 of our most vulnerable
residents. Port Adelaide Enfield is proud
to be one of the few councils to provide
this type of assistance.
At Port Adelaide Enfield we are
passionate about grassroots
representation and that is why
I will continue making myself
readily available to you.
Feel free to contact me on
0421 329 153 if you wish to raise
any Council matters as I would
be more than happy to assist you.
Being involved
in local
government as
a councillor
can be like
having a loud
speaker at the top of a local mountain.
It enables me to take every opportunity
to promote health and well-being in
our community especially through my
role as the inaugural patron of OC
CHALLENGE, which promotes healthy
lifestyles and awareness for women
suffering from ovarian cancer, and
supports women’s health issues
at the Women’s Health Unit at the
Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Monies raised go to the RAH Research
Fund which supports medical research
at the Hanson Institute and to provide
psychological support for women
diagnosed with ovarian cancer in South
Australia and the Northern Territory.
For more information go to
occhallenge@esc.net.au to be put
on their mailing list.
I am also passionate about the work the
RSL sub-branches do in my electorate
and am especially honoured to be
patron of two sub-branches in Enfield
and Kilburn, where I see first-hand the
community support and great work
that they do.
Please contact me on 8359 4369
if you have any concerns about
Council issues.
The following
information
has been
provided
by the
Administration
of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield
on behalf of Cr Peter McKay.
Cr Peter McKay was first elected
as a Councillor for South Ward
with the City of Enfield in 1971.
Cr McKay continued his service
with the Enfield Council until its
amalgamation with the Port Adelaide
Council in 1996. Enfield Ward was
formed combining the suburbs of
Broadview, Enfield, Clearview, Blair
Athol and Kilburn, with provision
for 3 of the 17 Elected Members
to represent the interests of the
Enfield community. In 2010 a Ward
boundary re-alignment included the
suburb of Manningham to the Enfield
Ward. Cr McKay has held a position
on the City of Port Adelaide Enfield
since 1996 with a total of 42 years
of service to Local Government.
Contact me on 8262 3387 to
