RECONCILIATIONWEEK
PEACEWALK
A fantastic turnout of more than 1000 people made this
year’s ReconciliationWeek PeaceWalk a tremendous success.
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield partnered with 'Global
Communities for Peace' to stage the walk from Harts Mill to
‘Lartelare’, a park across the river on the Port waterfront.
Member for Port Adelaide, Susan Close launched theWalk
together with Margaret Brodie, a direct descendant of
Lartelare. Iman Kalhidi from the Islamic Association of SA and
other representatives also attended.
Special thanks to students from Alberton Primary School,
Ocean View College and Thebarton Senior College who
walked along with members of the local community. The sight
of so many people walking over bridge together waving their
flags and banners was amazing!
Thanks also to the Rotary Club of Port Adelaide,
for providing a BBQ.
