BEACH MAT TRIAL

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is working collaboratively to

improve access to services and key locations for people with

disabilities.We

launched the trial of our beach access mats on

Thursday 30 June at Semaphore.

Two different types of beach access mats will be trialled in

the coming months. One will be at Semaphore just north

of the Palais Hotel, and the other at Largs Bay alongside the

Largs Bay Sailing Club.

During the trial period, Council will respond to any issues

arising as we work towards an effective solution of having

universal beach access for everybody. Beach wheelchairs

will also be investigated for future purchase and hire.

TO TEACH ENGLISH AS A

SECOND LANGUAGE

The Library Service is looking for volunteers to help our new

arrivals learn and practice speaking English.The classes would

be offered from the Enfield Public Library.

CALLINGWOMEN OF ALL

AGES AND CULTURES TO

SHARE SKILLS

The Kilburn Community Centre is holding a program for women

of all ages and cultures to learn English, craft workshops, training

workshops, community market including free fruit, vegetables and

bread donated from local shops – and a great opportunity to

THE FESTIVAL OF VINTAGE –

BOATS PLANES AND TRAINS

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield, alongside the SA Maritime

Museum, the SA Aviation Museum and the National Railway

Museum - are running the Festival of Vintage Boat,Trains &

Planes on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October 2016 in

Lipson Street Port Adelaide.

The festival celebrates all things ‘vintage’, including boats,

planes, trains, cars, motorbikes, hobbies, signage, furniture,

clothing, toys, books, tools, arts and crafts.

The three museums in the Port will each be putting on

special events across the weekend.

There will be vintage aircraft runs in the skies and steam

boat cruises in the Port River. Lots of heritage vehicles will

be on display, including classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.

AVintage Emporium will feature over 35 vintage themed

market stalls. Roving street performers will be entertaining

around the precinct all weekend.

Tenacious, the biggest tall ship in the world, will be here

all weekend and will be open for tours along with the

City of Adelaide Clipper Ship.

Plus, a classic vintage double decker vintage bus will be on

hand to make it easy to get around.
