Kurruru Youth
Performing Arts
An exciting line up of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander performers, presented by Kurruru Youth Performing
Arts. Kurruru is a Kaurna word meaning circle or celebration,
and brings together traditional dance performed by the
Binnanendi Boys troupe and contemporary Aboriginal
dance by its award-winning Kurruru Dance Ensemble.
Kurruru’s young performers are a dynamic demonstration of
the importance of maintaining Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander living cultural practices. Also presented by Kurruru
are the awesome and diverse talents of Matty Johnson’s
Duet Full Circle, the inspirational Michael Collard in his
Gentleman’s persona Big Sexy, and South Australia’s
award-winning Beatboxer Kai Ellis.
