INCLUSIVE EVENTS AT

PAE LIBRARIES

Making access easier

Our Libraries offer a range of events and

programs to meet the diverse needs of our

community.

Following the success of Multicultural Storytime

earlier in the year at Greenacres, we ran

new sessions at Enfield, Parks and again at

Greenacres Library in August.

Featuring interactive songs and stories in

Chinese, Hindi and Korean, we welcome people

from all cultures to these sessions.

Each of our libraries is accessible by wheelchair

and Parks Library also has a Changing Places, an

adult changing facility accessible with a MLAK

system key that enables people with a disability

direct access to these facilities.

There is also an accessible public computer

available at Parks and Port Adelaide Library.

For more information, contact your local library.

RECRUITING FOR THE FUTURE

New system makes recruitment easier

It’s the people we hire that enable us to deliver

the most effective programs and services for

our community. Our new recruitment portal

tells you everything you need to know about

working at the City of PAE and makes it easier

to apply for a position. Candidates no longer

need to create a log in, and the new system

also allows applications to be tracked from any

device.

GOING UNDERGROUND

Jetty Road Upgrades

The City of PAE is working with SA Power

Networks to underground power along the

western section of Jetty Road, Largs Bay

between the Esplanade and Military Road.

The undergrounding works by SA Power

Networks is currently underway and is

expected to be completed by December

2019.This is a great opportunity for PAE

to undertake a streetscape upgrade of this

historically significant road.

Our placemaking, engineering and heritage

staff have been working with a group of local

residents to develop a concept plan and

construction will commence in the 2020-2021

financial year.

The concept includes improved road layout,

parking, landscaping, lighting, outdoor dining

opportunities, wider footpaths, renewal of

the road pavement and the creation of both

permanent and temporary public artworks that

reflect the area and highlight the history. We

have been working with SA Power Networks

and local residents during the consultation

period for the undergrounding portion of this

project, and there will be further opportunity

for input on the placemaking aspect of this

project soon.

PLANTING AT PLANO

Making a difference onWhite Ribbon Day

In 2015, PAE became the first council in the

state to achieveWhite Ribbon Accreditation

for our commitment to promoting a culture of

respectful relationships with a zero tolerance of

violence against women.

As a community leader, we believe we have

a role in driving social change and leading by

example when it comes to the support and

protection of women.

Being part of theWhite Ribbon program

has helped us to reflect on and adapt our

organisational culture, policies, procedures and

how we can support those affected by family

violence and provide our employees with
