Barker Inlet, Magazine Creek and Range Wetlands Management Plans
In early 2011, a new Management and Maintenance Plan was developed for
Barker Inlet, Magazine Creek ,and Range Wetlands. The plan provides
comprehensive details on the existing wetland infrastructure and wetland
management issues such as pests and contamination.
The purpose of the Plan is to provide a schedule of management and
maintenance activities to assist wetland managers to effectively manage the
wetland conditions for the longer term. Particular scheduled maintenance and
management activities for infrastructure, weed control, spills contamination and
water level variation have been included in the Plan. In addition the Plan also
includes a map of existing vegetation conditions and supplementary planting
recommendations for different vegetation zones.
