DCNS SPONSORING MAGPIES

Recently, Port Adelaide Magpies welcomed their new sponsor,

French naval shipbuilder DCNS which is working alongside the

club, City of PAE and State Government to regenerate the Port

Adelaide region with new jobs and new pride.

City of PAE Mayor Gary Johanson said, "It's fantastic to see

the Port undergoing a huge redevelopment at the moment

with so many new businesses opening, renovations and

construction projects. It's great to have DCNS getting involved

locally alongside the football club which is already so deeply

embedded in our community."

Port Adelaide Football club CEO Keith Thomas told the

Advertiser, "Both the club and DCNS want to regenerate Port

Adelaide. DCNS will do that with

jobs.We

as a club are deeply

rooted in the Port Adelaide community and will do that by

encouraging youth to follow education paths in science, maths,

engineering and technology to take up the long-term jobs being

delivered by DCNS."

The City of PAE has had a long running partnership with the

Port Adelaide Football Club to deliver a number of programs in

the community.

HILLCREST COMMUNITY

CENTRE 20TH BIRTHDAY

CELEBRATION

Council owns and operates four community centres in the City

of PAE. They are hubs of activity and great places to socialise

with friends whilst perhaps trying something new.

On 22 July, the Hillcrest Community Centre will celebrate it’s

20th birthday.

We are keen to hear from anybody who has used the centre

in the

past.We

would like to hear your stories and memories

about the centre. Do you have any pictures? If you do, we

would love to see them and maybe use them in an exhibition

on the day.

We want to make sure that we mark this special occasion

appropriately and that as many of our community members

and centre users have the opportunity to contribute to the

day. Whether you can sing, dance, create artwork, cook food

or donate some time to help in preparations, we would love to

hear from you.

If you would like to be involved with the event or can assist us

by sending photos, please call Steve on 8266 7267.
