GET ACTIVEWITH FIT

FOR FREE

We have 26 outdoor fitness stations across the City – and

more on the way. During April, Personal Trainers or Exercise

Physiologists were available at pre-advertised times at eight

stations across the City, to kick off our Fit for Free program,

teaching people how to use the exercise equipment correctly and

get the most from the experience.

It proved very popular. Participants were local people who were

either regularly active and wanted to add something to their daily

activity or had not been active in the past and wanted to learn

how to use the fitness equipment.

Fit for Free has been a great way to introduce local people to

free opportunities and to be active in the community. If you’d

like Fit for Free to come to an outdoor fitness station near you

contact Vanessa on 8405 6525 or

MOTIVATION TO GET FIT

We all know how difficult it is to maintain motivation during

the winter months particularly when it comes to exercise. Fit

for Free has continued to be well received and following the

completion of the April program we introduced “Fit For Free-

Motivate Me” sessions at Lefevre Community Stadium which runs

until 13 June.

Fit for Free-Motivate Me weekly sessions with an Exercise

Physiologist will be available at Enfield Community Centre every

Wednesday from 1.30-2.30pm from 6 June until 25 July running

over eight sessions. You will be able to connect with other

exercise buddies to help maintain motivation and, at the same

time, learn about things you can do at home to maintain an

exercise regime and keep fit during the colder months.

BECOME A COMMUNITY FOODIE

Do you love to cook? Do you have an interest in healthy living?

Do you want to share your interest in cooking and healthy living

with others?

If you said yes to all of these questions then you may want

to become a Port Adelaide Enfield Community Foodie or a

Community Foodie Helper to assist others to make healthy

food choices.

Foodies provide support to others through food education,

cooking and sharing knowledge at various sites across the

whole City.

Our Community Foodies undergo a six week training program

to learn the skills needed to be confident in working with

community and share knowledge on healthy eating. Community

Foodie Helpers complete simple food safety and handling training

which prepares them to work alongside a Community Foodie and

help make sessions fun and enjoyable.

If you aren’t sure and want more information then come along to

an information session.

There will be three sessions during June.
