FUSTAL PARK BLAIR ATHOL

NOW OPEN

In late April we opened the new Futsal Park in Blair Athol.

Thanks to everybody who came out in the rain to take part in

the One Culture Football tournament.

Mayor Gary Johanson and the Hon Kate Ellis, Federal Member

for Adelaide took the first shots at the goals and despite wearing

heels and holding a baby, Ms Ellis was the first person to beat the

keeper to hit the net!

This brand new sports area has transformed the dilapidated

netball courts into three fully lit futsal courts for five sided

community football games.

As well as being available for day to day public use, we will

be teaming up with other organisations to run activities and

outreach programs to ensure that our community gets the

maximum benefit from this new sports facility.

This is just one of a number of key projects we are undertaking

to make it as easy as possible to get people outside and active in

their community.

underway, the Church Street upgrade will tie in nicely with

nearby development projects.

Construction of Stage 1 of the Church Street upgrade is

expected to be completed by mid June 2018. Stage 2 is

anticipated to commence mid July 2018 with an expected

completion date of mid-October 2018.Timing of both stages will

be dependent on weather and other unforeseen circumstances

which may arise.

The proposed works will include the rearrangement of

pedestrian crossings, reshaping and widening of the road, new

kerbing, landscaping, lighting upgrades and more.
