MAYOR’S MESSAGE

Welcome to our Autumn edition of our

quarterly magazine with all the latest

news from PAE.

Our new Council has had time to settle

in and we are all relishing our roles

in both connecting with you in the

community and discussing and debating

the issues in the Council Chamber. We

are all here with the same goal…to do

the right thing for you in the community.

We welcome Peter Jamieson back to

Council. The Court of Disputed Returns

appointed him to replace Adrian Wotton

as an Elected Member for the City

of Port Adelaide Enfield, following an

error identified in the election counting

process. Cr Jamieson took the Oath of

Office prior to our February meeting. I

also want to thank Adrian Wotton for

his service to the community during the

past few months.

It’s on in PAE this autumn, and we have

many balmy nights still to come and

we’ve planned some great events to

get you out and about, and you can see

what else is on over the coming months

from our calendar of events and services

offered by our community centres and

libraries on page 8.

I hope to see you at the Port Fringe

where we have 68 artists displaying their

work in over 30 venues across PAE, and

we’ll be dancing in the streets at our

popular street party in March.

Then get ready for our April

Food@5085 event, to enjoy a feast of

taste sensations as we bring chefs and

home cooks from our newly arrived

communities together to share, taste,

talk and enjoy.

There is so much happening in PAE and

we have many major projects on this

year, with the Dock 1 and North West

Fletchers Slip developments, the Kilburn

Blair Athol urban renewal project,

Oakden and Gilles Plains upgrades,

and the Lights Community and Sports

Centre along with the Lightsview urban

development project.

We’ll keep you updated as they progress

and I look forward to seeing you out and

about discovering what makes PAE so

special particularly at this time of

the year.
