young@art
Come and see the world through the eyes of
young people. For the last two months, four Port
Adelaide Artists Forum Artists have shared their skills,
and worked with students from four local schools -
North Haven Primary, Oceanview College, Le Fevre
High and Woodville Gardens School - to create a
delightful exhibition of young art.
Jane Alyce-Humphries (ceramic sculpture) worked
with students to create small 3D clay objects
embellished with ‘over the top’ decoration.
Mandi Glynn-Jones (drawing) has explored
perspective and intense decoration with the
students, using pens. Each drawing has many
layers, drawing the onlooker further and further
into the artwork.
Kalyna Micenko (painted cut-out creatures) has
the students using hardboard to cut and shape
their designs, creating brightly painted images
that form a vivid, freestanding and floating
installation.
Bob Daly (papier mâché pets) has taught
students a simple papier mâché technique he
learnt in Cuba from the famed Mora Bros to
create larger than life pets.
