your voice in Council on matters that
concern you in your area, and they are
the people who make the policy decisions
that guide the Council’s administration in
its daily work. If you have any concerns
that should be brought to the attention of
Council, please contact one of the Elected

Where has the time gone!
Recently I’ve heard many people remark
how quickly we seem to be marching
through 2016 and I must admit I have
to agree. Perhaps it feels this way due
to the abundance of activity around the
Council area over the warmer months.
The Port Adelaide Enfield Council area
shone as THE major host of Fringe events
outside of the CBD – almost 50 separate
acts played to delighted audiences, and
the now hugely successful Laneway
Festival drew a crowd of 8000 music-
lovers and received rave reviews.
These events play a vital role in
cementing our reputation as a hub
for arts and culture and I congratulate
everyone who participated in their
planning or showed their support,
by attending.
In Kilburn – the community was treated
to a wonderful free concert by the
Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, and the
Port Rocks Festival again, rocked
the Port.
In the pages of this newsletter you’ll find
information about another exciting new
festival planned for the Port later this
year – anyone with a leaning towards all
things “Vintage” will be inspired!
The Council is a proud major sponsor of
these events, and it’s always gratifying
to see how a concert, or a festival, or
a market can bring our community
together – and enable us to share what
we have to offer with others.
While I’m on the subject of bringing
our community together, I’d also like
to recognise the tireless work of our
Community Centres - Enfield, Hillcrest,
Kilburn and Le Fevre. They’re extremely
active as you’ll see when you read about
their upcoming school holiday programs
in this newsletter.
These Centres are often the first link new
residents, particularly new arrivals to
Australia, have with their new home. This
is where the welcome starts, friendships
are made, children are nurtured
and opportunities are grasped. The
tireless work of Council staff and local
volunteers does not go unnoticed.
Time is marching on. Easter is already
behind us - I hope you had the chance
to take a break and I encourage you
to keep an eye on the Council website
for news of the next run of events and
services that might be of interest, to you.
Your Elected Members meet every month to discuss a range of matters related to
community life. Meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
Here are just some of the key decisions made at recent meetings.
