Holiday fun at local centres
There will be a range of free fun activities at the Enfield
and Hillcrest Community Centres during the April school
holidays for children aged six years and over.
You will need to book your child in as numbers are limited,
so to avoid disappointment please contact your local

parents can have a well-earned break from the children in
the holidays and the kids will love you for it. Activities are

Share a world of tea!
Did you know that the first recorded use of tea as
a beverage took place nearly 5,000 years ago
in China?
Or that beyond the commonly found black tea
and green tea there are several other varieties,
such as white, yellow, oolong and pu-erh?
And that as well as milk and sugar, many other
accompaniments to tea are found throughout the
world, including lemon, honey, cinnamon and
cloves, even salt and butter!
The new ‘World of Tea’ international tea bar at
Kilburn Community Centre is a monthly program
providing a journey across different cultures
through the many styles and flavours of tea.
Each month, a particular theme will be presented,
looking at the development of tea within a
certain culture or exploring the range of tastes to
be discovered in a particular type of tea. Come
and expand your mind and taste buds at this
series of engaging and relaxing sessions.
For those who do not wish to try the more
obscure and unusual selections and styles, a
range of more familiar teas will be available at all
sessions to ensure everyone can enjoy a
nice cuppa!
After being launched during the Harmony Day
activities on 21 March, the Kilburn Community
Centre ‘World of Tea’ will be held monthly
on Tuesday mornings on the following dates
throughout 2014, with each session running from
10.30am- 12pm:
• Tuesday 29 July
• Tuesday 26 August
• Tuesday 23 September
• Tuesday 21 October
• Tuesday 18 November
• Tuesday 9 December
Themes for each month are still being finalised
and will be promoted at the Centre and on the
Council website. For any questions about the
program, to register your interest or to share
ideas about possible themes, please contact
