New look for Kilburn
Kilburn Community Centre will close for about eight
weeks from Monday 14 April 2014 to undertake a much
needed refurbishment of the facility.
The upgrade to the main stadium, with new carpeting
and painting throughout, improved toilet amenities
near the hall, new air conditioning in the hall and the
installation of data projectors will breathe new life into
the building.
While Council apologises for any inconvenience during
the refurbishment period, existing groups and new
programs will soon be located in a modern improved
facility. The works were due to taked place in December
and January 2014, but were delayed after a grant
previously approved by the former Federal government
did not come to fruition. Council will now fund the
project, which needs to be completed this financial year.
For further information contact Leigh at the centre before
14 April on 8349 8363 or Jeff on 8405 6874.

Bootscoot along to Lefevre
A new line dancing group (bootscooting) has started at
Lefevre Community Stadium weekly on Thursdays from
10am to11am and a Beginners class at 12pm to 1pm.
Cost is $6 a class.
Line dancing is a healthy form of physically and mentally
stimulating low impact exercise. It has a proven health
record for prevention of Alzheimer’s, dementia and
osteoporosis as well as reducing the chance of heart disease.
Line dancing (solo dancing) is also a dance form for
individuals, with no partner required and no upper age
limitations. It’s a great way to socialise with others so stay
around and chat over a tea or coffee after class.
Contact Nathan on 8405 6908 for details.
