MAYOR’S MESSAGE

Welcome to the latest winter news from

PAE. It may be cold outside, but we have

many things to get you out and about.

We have recently released our Annual

Business Plan and Budget for 2019-2020,

and we met many of you from our local

community in April to get your feedback.

The new Annual Business Plan is a

forward-looking plan, focussed on

maintaining and renewing assets we

already have, whilst delivering a diverse

range of services and programs for you in

our community.

2019-2020 is a time for consolidation with

a back-to-basics focus on how we use

our operating funds on your health and

wellbeing, safety needs, sustainable waste

management and recycling, open space

access, arts and cultural activities, local

businesses and more.

We received some great comments and

I want to thank our community members

and groups that took the time to consider

what has been proposed.

It has been a busy time here in PAE, and

in the lead up to the Federal election,

we were also looking at the strategic

importance that PAE holds within the

State and national economy.

We highlighted some of our key strategic

projects and partnership opportunities

to the Federal Government to help us

deliver successful outcomes in the future.

We also have many major projects

currently on the go, including our ongoing

stormwater capital works program that

has been occurring over the past 20

years. Most of it is hidden out of sight, but

having a sound stormwater infrastructure

in place offers peace of mind in knowing

that your home has some protection

against flooding.

August is SALA month, and we have

a variety of exhibitions and events in

different venues across PAE. With our

culturally rich and diverse community, we

are an important and vibrant arts hub, and

home to a significant number of artists,

galleries, studios, museums and cultural

organisations.

So look out for the SALA Guide, rug up

and get out to see what’s on in PAE this

winter.
