TIME TO CHECK YOUR DOG

AND CAT REGISTRATION

Annual dog registration renewal notices will be sent to all dog

owners during the first week of July. Following the launch of the

Statewide Dogs and Cats Online (DACO) database last year,

owners can now choose to receive their renewals by SMS, email

or post.

Renewal notice preferences can be updated via the website

www.dogsandcatsonline.com.au

It’s also a great time to update any changes to your email,

phone number or postal address.

Since July 2018, it has been mandatory to have your cat

microchipped and your cat’s microchip details can also be

registered in the DACO database. Cats are Australia’s second

most popular pet and by having their microchip details logged at

DACO lost cats have a better chance to be reunited with

their owners.

The DACO website manages registration, microchipping

information and breeder information and really is your

one-stop-shop for all the details related to your dogs and cats.

Log in today and check everything is up to date; it only

takes a moment.

EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE

FOR NEWARRIVALS

PAE is working with Sonder Employment Solutions to make it

easier for migrants and refugees to find work. The service is

entirely voluntary and is not connected to Centrelink or Job

Service Providers.

Individual career coaches will assess your needs and help you to

navigate the system and interview process to secure a job. This

is for residents of PAE who hold a valid working visa. Eligibility

criteria applies. Call 8209 0700 and ask to speak to a career

coach or visit

PORTRAITS OF THE LOCAL

COMMUNITY

With support from the Kilburn Community Centre, The Art Bus

recently ran a photographic course where local people went out

and about in the Kilburn community and took photos of local

people, services and generally interesting spots.

Launched in March, the exhibition is available to view at

the Centre on Tuesday and Saturday mornings or Thursday

afternoons. The exhibition is on display in the hall in the corridor

near the cafe.

We thank Miranda and Claire from

www.theartbus.com.au

and everyone who took the photos and their subjects.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW

AND ACE IT

Adult Community Education (ACE) courses are run in

partnership with the Kilburn Community Centre, Lutheran

Community Centre and the Kilburn Peace and Welcome Garden.

ACE is for adults looking for learning and training and provides

opportunities to develop skills in a fun and supportive community

setting. With its training component and community focus, it is

particularly valuable for people who want to re-engage in learning

or the community.

The Experience Café is a not-for-profit venue right in the

heart of the Centre, and is open Tuesday to Saturday from

10am-4:30pm.
