Cr Mark Basham
My family and I
have loved living in
Northfield Ward for
more than 20 years, in
Oakden, Valley View,
Greenacres and now,
Northfield.
We love the people,
we love the facilities
such as the local dog
Park, the library,
the beautiful parks
and playgrounds, the
Northgate Community
and Sports Club
and we’re looking
forward to The Lights
Community and Sports
Centre.
We are more like a
country town with a
sense of community,
always someone you
know in the local shops
or at the Lights Fresh
Markets, and great
cafes. We’re looking
forward to the next 20
years here too!
NORTHFIELD WARD
• A younger population with a higher proportion of people aged 25 to 44 years and under 9 years
• More families made up of couples with children and a lower proportion of people living alone
• Significantly higher proportion of people born in India and China
Compared with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and Greater Adelaide, the Northfield Ward has:
Cr Matt Osborn
Since my wife and I
bought our home in
Oakden ten years ago,
we have embraced the
opportunity to connect
with other residents
in our community.
Whether it’s coming
together for CityReach
Oakden’s Christmas
carols on the lawns of
Cedar College, soaking
up the North East
Community Day at the
Hillcrest Community
Centre, celebrating
a victory for the
Greenacres Dragons,
meeting friends for a
delicious meal at
Jibbi & Co in Lightsview,
bumping into people
we know while walking
the loop path around
Roy Amer Reserve, or
simply having a yarn
with our neighbours, it
is the people that make
Northfield Ward a
special place.
Cr Hannah Evans
As a dog-mum of two
it’s not surprising
I enjoy visiting Roy
Amer Reserve in
Oakden, LJ Lewis Dog
Park in Northfield
and walking around
the lakes in Lightsview
(often with a coffee
and ‘puppuccino’ from
Lakeside Café, Urban
Lights or Jibbi & Co).
I’m excited to see that
the Lights Community
& Sports Centre will be
completed later in the
year, which offers an
inclusive space for our
community to enjoy as
well as a place to call
home for the North
Adelaide Rockets.
I’m proud to be part of
our strong and inclusive
community and look
forward to working
alongside residents to
improve the places
and spaces we
know and love.
