Ensuring adequate separation and buffering of incompatible land uses, and
reduction of pollutants from industrial and commercial sites, motor vehicles and
domestic activities, is integral to improving local air quality, minimising air
pollution and providing a sustainable healthy environment for Port Adelaide
Enfield residents and the business workforce.

Trends
Since 2006, PM

particulate levels measured at Lefevre Peninsula have
INCREASED. Incidents exceeding 50ug/m3 for 2007 and 2008 have
INCREASED by 2 and 3 respectively since 2006.
Between 2006 and 2009, established high emissions NPI registered
facilities that contribute to emission sources have INCREASED in the
Council area.

Objectives
Urban and industrial development does not have a detrimental impact on
the quality of the natural environment.
Detrimental health impacts from industrial areas and transport corridors
minimised through appropriate lad use planning that balances the needs of
