The results indicated that the average daily PM
10
concentration in Adelaide ranged from 15.6µg/m
3
at Kensington Gardens to
19.7µg/m
3
at Netley. The daily NEPM standard of 50µg/m
3
was exceeded at all 3 sites.
Almost 50% of estimated particulate emissions into the Adelaide airshed (data from the NPI) come from solid fuel (wood) burning
and vehicle exhausts. The Adelaide community continues to use solid fuel burning and vehicles, and in the absence of other
measures to change this dependence, further pressures from increasing population are likely to maintain or possibly increase air
particle levels in the future (EPA, 2008 Air Quality Report). Refer to the below tables for more details.
