The landscape and its elements have always been mapped and named by the
Kaurna community, who use language as an effective and powerful tool to
assert themselves within their landscapes. The 'Kaurna Heritage Survey'
categorised important sites within the region as Burials, Campsites, Mounds,
Scarred Trees, Ceremonial Grounds, Isolated Finds, Water sources and
Events. Table 12 provides a broader regional overview of previously recorded
Indigenous sites.
