Issues and opportunities - Summary
•
Evaluate environmental and social impacts of urban consolidation policies
(i.e. increased densities).
•
Support the development of 'Green Precincts' within the City, which
support energy and water efficient sustainable high density living, on-site
waste water reuse and disposal in context of the 30 Year Plan for Greater
Adelaide.
•
Support the development of South Australian infrastructure guidelines in
regarding the development of WSUD and open space infrastructure.
•
Review the Port Adelaide Enfield Open Space Plan to ensure adequate
provision and optimal design of public open space in the context of the 30
Year Plan for Greater Adelaide.
•
Ensure that all new or refurbished Council community and recreational
assets and facilities are designed and built to a high standard of energy
and water efficiency
•
Promote and facilitate the development and maintenance of industry
clusters in the City (in particularly Gillman), to realise potential
environmental and economic benefits in liaison with the State and Federal
Governments and industry networks.
•
Advocate for the sewering of the Wingfield/Gillman area to ensure more
appropriate waste disposal systems are available to current and future
residents and industries in the area.
