Renovation works to close
Enfield Community Centre
Enfield Community Centre will close temporarily for
renovation works from February to June 2015.
The renovation work, which will start on Saturday 1
February and continue until 31 May 2015, include,
repairs to walls, painting/repainting of most interior
walls, replacement of carpets, replacement of stadium
flooring, replacement of stadium skylights, replacement
of the main entrance door, new indoor signage, removal
of asbestos and upgrading of stormwater disbursement
structure.
It is expected that the centre will return to full operation
by 1 June 2015.
Council’s funding of the project marks a significant
gesture of support by Council’s elected representatives for
the hirers and patrons of the centre. It means that when
the renovation work is completed, the public can look
forward to the resumption of high quality community
services and programs in a rejuvenated setting.

Birthday parties at Lefevre

Different packages are available, including roller skating,
basketball, soccer, badminton, netball and many more

Seven ways to join in at
Kilburn Community Centre
in 2015
1. Pre-school children aged two to five years old
can test the limits of their creativity with a state-
of-the-art Imagination Playground – a series of
rigid foam blocks that children can turn into
whatever they imagine: cars, boats, houses,
gardens, canals, roller coasters. Parents are
welcome to be involved as well. Sessions are
held during term times on Monday mornings
from 10-11am.
2. After school activities for primary school aged
children continue during term times. Karate on
Mondays and Wednesdays, roller-skating on
Tuesdays, basketball on Wednesdays. Small costs
are involved for participation.
3. Teenagers can join in an indoor soccer program
coordinated by Whitelion after school on
Thursday evenings from 3.30-5.30pm. Call
Nicole at Whitelion on 0488 215 917 for more
information.
4. Local young Aboriginal people are invited to
take part in ‘Deadly Identities’ – an educational
program run by Thebarton Senior College on
Thursday mornings. A crèche is available for
young parents. Call Chantal or Katie on 8352 5811
for information and registrations.
5. The long-standing Community Lunch is now
being followed by a classic film screening in
the afternoon. Sessions are held fortnightly on
Tuesdays throughout the year.
6. Active recreation on Monday afternoons the
Stadium will commence from early 2015. Activities
such as table tennis and indoor bowls will be
available. People of all ages and abilities are
invited to come along and join in the fun. Indoor
bowls is accessible for people with limited
mobility and can be played in a seated position if
this is more comfortable.
7. The World of Tea continues monthly on Tuesdays
from 11am -1pm. Each month brings a new theme
with popular teas made upon request.
