Hidden Places, Hidden Lives
Four of the residents from Semaphore Lodge were invited to
participate in a photographic project Hidden Places Hidden
Lives, which culminated in an exhibition at the University of
South Australia’s Hawke Centre as part of SALA.
Semaphore Lodge is part of the Western Region Supported
Residential Facilities (SRF) Project, which is a Home and
Community Care (HACC) funded project managed by the
City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
Hidden Places Hidden Lives created an archive of
photographic art as a social documentary, exploring and
portraying the lives and stories of residents of SRFs whilst
considering the broader issues of social inclusion and
citizenship for those living with complex needs.
Sharon, David, Nick and Jansen’s photographs are beautiful
pieces of art that captured deeply honest emotions expressed
by each of them.
