Aboriginal & Torres Strait
Islander Awards
A fantastic night of celebration was held at the
Port Club on Wednesday 5 November where Council
presented the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Awards
to some extremely worthy recipients.
The Awards are part of Council’s Nunga Week celebrations
where we highlight the many valuable contributions that
our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population make in
our community every day.
This year the Awards were presented to:

In presenting the awards, Port Adelaide Enfield Mayor
Gary Johanson thanked the recipients and all those
who were nominated.
“The dedication and commitment that is demonstrated by
these individuals, particularly to improving the lives for
Aboriginal people in our region, is outstanding,”
said Mayor Johanson.

The Adelaide Sea Dragons, a long-standing and successful
dragon boat club, would like to involve you in the fastest
growing water sport in the world through its world-class
members who will introduce you to the sport they enjoy
so much.
These are introductory sessions for adults and children
over 12 years, and are suitable for all levels of fitness.
Bring a friend, workmate or partner, everyone is welcome,
and if the bug bites perhaps you’d like to join the club and
take part in their training sessions throughout the week.
Meet at the Sailing Club, 1 Jenkins Street, Port Adelaide, at
10am on Saturday 29 November or 6 December to have a

Adventure Kayaking SA is offering an exciting opportunity
to explore Port Adelaide’s Inner Harbour by kayak. The
tour enables you to view the historic Port and its resident
tall ships the Falie and One & All from the water. The tour
will depart from the Birkenhead boat ramp on Wednesday
3 December at 10am.
